Crowded House is an Australian trio founded after the breakup of Split Enz in 1984 by lead-singer Neil Finn and bassist Nick Seymour (younger brother of Hunters and Collectors frontman Mark) added with drummer Paul Hester. Their 1986 debut album 'Crowded House' yielded the singles "World Where You Live", "Something So Strong" and their timeless and best known song "Don't Dream It's Over" utilizes a Maori strum on Finn's guitar, and Froom's organ solo. This combines with absolutely magical sonic moments on "Love You 'Till The Day I Die", Hole In The River", and the albums magnum opus, the closing track, "That's What I Call Love", to make a funky, anthemic, and obviously passion-filled project which stands as one of the greatest pop albums of the 1980s.
